One rainy day, my son and I wandered into the local library. He wasn’t in the mood to look for new books, so I was pleased that he found a young friend to play with while I was searched the stacks. When it was time to leave, I found it hard to pry my son away from his new friend. Since we were still considering preschools in the area for the following year, I asked his new playmate where she went to school. When she told me she was in kindergarten, I asked why she wasn’t in school that day. “I was throwing up all night, so I couldn’t go to school today,” she announced. At that, I noticed her father who was quietly reading on a chair nearby, sink even further into his seat.
We’d love your stories and comments on keeping sick kids at home.

often flues are 24 hrs but if you were up all night the child may have been too tiered to get up for school and the dad too lazy to go check her in but I guess a lazy dad doesn’t take kids to the library so I’m at a loss
